These poems genuinely seem real, each one generated feels right. My favorite one is "a boy dressed in blue, falling in love with the screen, in order to smile" all the lines of text seem to fit together, maybe this is just the brain filling in the blanks, but its all so coherent. Amazing work
All your projects that I've seen thus far have had an incredible amount of polish to them! I love that they continue to utilize the color blue to some capacity. I had a lot of fun spamming the spacebar to generate new lines.
I really enjoyed this! It's so interesting how many different things can be generated and all having something meaningful. I think this idea is a really interesting concept as well and it's very creative.
I really enjoyed trying to find the pattern within each of the categories with mirror often referencing the self, masses referencing others and society, and millennia taking about nature. Memento was an interesting one too since it seems like a part of all three with no background image to guide our thoughts. Lots of thought behind this game for sure!
I was really excited to play this game after seeing you post about it on Bluesky. I was a bit surprised that you not only integrated images but also sound/music with most of the spaces, which really adds to the aesthetics of the prompts. I wonder how you were able to create that pixelated look on your images as that also impressed me.
Regarding that pixelated look, I made a post about that on my BlueSky, but essentially I used a program called FireAlpaca64 (which is free!). If you look up documentation, you can use the "Mosaic" filter and the "Posterization" filter to adjust the image like the ones you see here. Thanks for playing!
The combination of the music, visuals, and sound effects really come together to create the perfect introspective setting, letting the player move through the different poems and think about what they could mean. Each line fits together with the other options, managing to create so many different potential interpretations.
there’s something that just makes sense about this game, i find myself thinking “yeah, that’s a poem right there” and it fits with whatever art is in the background, would love to know about the level of randomization in this game
thanks for playing! yeah so I handled randomization based on each line (1, 2, 3). each line had 10 unique choices for each screen. Memento is the only screen where all the lines from the previous screens are put into one generator (30 different choices for each line)
Really cute game~it is easy to play but full of fun~thank you for mentioning the origin of this type of game and I would learn more about it later after class~
MMM is really a cool take on generating something randomly. As a game meant to be thought provoking in reaction,I wonder how it would read in a longer prose formate, like a sonnet or monologue?
This game reminds me of another game I played today. That game also has a similar game mode for the players to create their own stories. This type of game really create more possibility than others.

This game is definitely inspired from the readings and the groups we formed on Tuesday (I think it was Tuesday), but instead of a deck of different haiku lines it’s done in a very polished game experience! Memento means to remember, so is the haiku we generate meant to be a “memento” of our experience playing this game?
I felt that the city area and memento one made me really think about myself and the role we play everyday in this world. It definitely is a reflective game that can be really funny with the art and word combos but also kind of existential at times. It strikes a really good balance.
This game seems to be made to make the player either sentimental or reflective (or at least that’s how I view poems). The different locations all making different poems makes the poems more relatable to the viewer since there’s more variety and universality.
I like the idea behind the different "M", how they have completely separate meanings. While it's a haiku generator, I think it also allows the player to ponder, or just have fun with silly combos
The interactive buttons are really convenient. I was able to access them all except for the arrow keys with one hand without needing to move so it makes for a really relaxing experience more focused on the text itself.
The pixelart paired with location-specific audio gives this game a really fun aesthetic, especially because each location has a different dominant color. The use of a black border around all of your text was really smart. That way, it’s all easily legible regardless of the background.
I am confused on why I am able to change the lines on the momento pages an infinite amount of times, but the others I can’t? I assume it has to be due to the meaning of the word, but idk what it is. The lines and sound being dependent on what scene you are in makes the game very immersive. I appreciated that feeling of connection.
I like the pixel art you decided to use, but oddly, my favorite one is the memento page. I really like the white screen matched with the melancholy tone of the poems you generate. Usually, you think of white as a happy color, but here I think it works really well as a blank canvas of what a person might experience next. I think my favorite poem I generated was "child in the middle / viewing human suffering / and it never ends"
I agree the memento slide definitely leads it up to the players imagination to incorporate an image. I also think the lack of sound and imagery gives the words a new meaning.
Right off the bat, I love the visuals on your itch page, it does a great job of teasing the game. I like that you can switch through pictures for your different themes. I also love the poetry your game generates, although it is random it still holds meaning.

a great escapist
taking pieces of his mind
but always afraid
(Perfectly captures escapism in my opinion!)
It took me a bit to realize I could choose specific lines with 123, really cool feature that adds a sense of semi-randomness!
