Donta is about to start a new job... IN HELL?!

A (mostly) low-key story about waiting in the elevator... heading down to hell... with demons onboard.

---

Hellevator: Chapter 1 is a RenPy visual novel that contains...

  • a dive into the depths of Hell... meet 3 demonic companions, learn about the truth of their world, and begin your life in the Angel Extermination Squad!
  • a story told through the spaces in-between, primarily an elevator, with emphasis on dialogue and character interactions
  • a single ending with multiple choices that may lead to some special scenes!
  • a 8.5k word script, or around 30 minutes for a single playthrough

This is an introduction of a much larger story I could expand upon in the future. The thought process was "what if there's an entire game where we're only privy to the elevator rides in-between larger conflicts and events?". It's the kind of subversion and intimate scope that I appreciated from games like VA-11 Hall-A, where the scope of the world is defined primarily through characters interacting with each other (plus, it means I wouldn't have to spend time and resources to make bombastic, bloody scenes or set-pieces)

That's where I'm coming from anyways. I personally find the concept interesting. Feel free to take that thought process and expand or transform it however you want!

Note: use of screenshake, flashing lights, and mild swearing

Man, this already got me hooked on the plot. If you ever decide to work more on this project, I would love to see it! Overall, great work!
